2026 YOUTH LEADERSHIP TRAINING

DEVELOP SKILLS TO LEAD & INSPIRE CHANGE!

We are excited to invite youth leaders and their adult allies to the Ohio Youth-Led Collective’s 2026 Youth Leadership Training where your team will learn critical skills to create meaningful change in your schools and communities.

Through engaging workshops, large-group sessions, and hands-on skill-building opportunities, participants will strengthen their ability to turn ideas into action, lead others, navigate challenges, and make a lasting impact through youth-led programming.

This incredible educational and team-building experience includes programming, lodging, meals, and passes to the waterpark!

Here’s how to attend…

APPLICATION & REGISTRATION PROCESS:

GROUP APPLICATION

Due to limited space and the popularity of this training, groups interested in attending must complete the Group Application Form. Ohio youth-led groups serving 9-12th grade students may apply. Groups must have at least one attending adult advisor who will be responsible for their teens for the entirety of the training.

Each group may apply for up to four rooms, including the adult room(s). The rooms contain two queen sized beds, sleeping up to four youth per room if students share beds.  

Rooming Guidelines:

  • Students of opposite gender identities may not share a room

  • Adults may not share rooms with students

DEADLINE TO APPLY: OCTOBER 31st

SELECTION & NOTIFICATION

After our Leadership Team has reviewed all Applications, groups will be notified of their selection status and the number of rooms awarded.

ATTENDEE INFORMATION FORM

Selected groups must then complete the Attendee Information Form to provide participant details for all their group's attendees including name, grade, gender identity, dietary restrictions, and shirt size.

PAYMENT

Thanks to funding from the Ohio Department of Behavioral Health covering the majority of the cost, selected groups will only be responsible for $75 per room. Payment must be received prior to the training.

PLEASE NOTE: Attending adult allies are responsible for the behavior and supervision of your students at all times, including while at the waterpark and after hours. Please plan accordingly and take care of your own permission forms and communication with the parents/guardians of your youth.

EVENT DETAILS

ATTENDEES: Ohio youth-led groups — 9-12th graders and their adult allies. (See details below on application process)

DATE: Friday, Dec 11th - Sunday, Dec 13th

LOCATION: Kalahari Resorts, 7000 Kalahari Dr, Sandusky, OH 44870

ARRIVAL: Check-in will be held from 3:30-4:30 pm on Friday, December 11th. Dinner will be provided from 4:30 - 5:30 pm and programming will begin at 5:30 pm. 

CONCLUSION: Programming will conclude at 11:30 am on Sunday, December 13th.
