About the Ohio Youth-Led Collective

  • The Ohio Youth-Led Collective was created to build a coordinated, inclusive infrastructure that supports youth-led prevention statewide. Rather than working in isolation, youth-led groups across Ohio can learn from one another, access shared resources, and build leadership skills that lead to lasting impact.

Youth voice is central to this work. The Collective believes prevention efforts are strongest when young people are actively involved in identifying issues, shaping solutions, and leading initiatives that reflect the real needs of their peers.

  • The Ohio Youth-Led Collective supports youth-led prevention through a multi-faceted approach that includes:

    • Statewide trainings and leadership development opportunities for youth and adult allies

    • Technical assistance and support for youth-led groups

    • Prevention project grants that help turn ideas into action

    • Workforce development opportunities that strengthen the prevention field

    • A growing statewide network of youth-led prevention programs

Together, these efforts help youth-led initiatives grow stronger, more sustainable, and more connected across Ohio.

  • The Ohio Youth-Led Collective is made up of youth-led programs throughout Ohio and includes participation from youth-serving organizations, coalitions, and grassroots groups that align with the mission of youth-led prevention.

Youth and adult allies share ownership of this work. Members are encouraged to contribute ideas, collaborate across communities, and take an active role in shaping prevention efforts that support healthier outcomes for Ohio’s young people.

Statewide Coordination

The Ohio Youth-Led Collective is funded by the Ohio Department of Behavioral Health and works in coordination with partners across the state to expand access to evidence-based prevention strategies. This statewide approach allows resources to be shared more effectively and ensures youth-led prevention efforts reach communities across Ohio.
